Some of the most important lessons I’ve learned didn’t come from a classroom, they came from conversations in my backyard.

My grandfather would sit with me for hours, telling me about the life he built after coming to the United States and the consistency it took to earn respect, opportunity, and stability. He spoke about working in hospitals, about the discipline required to eventually open his own clinic, and about what it truly means to build a name for yourself. Those conversations weren’t just stories. They were lessons in resilience, accountability, and long-term vision.

My dad continued those lessons in a different setting, long car rides home from golf tournaments. We would talk about how the world works, how systems operate, and how success is rarely accidental. He challenged me to think critically, to understand the value of preparation, and to recognize that hard work is not optional if you want to stand out.

Golf reinforced everything they taught me. It is a sport built on precision. Every swing demands focus. Every round tests discipline. You quickly learn that talent alone is never enough; you must execute with consistency and attention to detail, even on your worst days. That mindset now shapes how I approach my academic and professional life.

Today, I bring that same foundation into everything I do: discipline, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. I am driven not just to participate, but to contribute meaningfully and build something I can be proud of, just as the generations before me did.
